Restoring balance.

Its no secret I have completely shifted how I live my life; from my career to how I parent, to how I shop; educating and advocating for myself, my family, and others (I’ll be forever grateful to Beautycounter for being my initial glimpse into how I can make different, cleaner, more educated choices). I’m doing things differently, approaching our health and wellness from a place of knowledge, faith, and clarity vs a reliance on others; asking the hard questions, making a lot of (somewhat) scary decisions I never thought I’d be making.

Dipping my toe back into the ssri waters while pregnant and newly postpartum with Teddy, while a necessary part of my journey, was not something I was happy about. Despite how great I was feeling, I knew this daily medication was not the path for me, so I woke up one day and simply decided to stop taking it. My gut was telling me there was a better way, albeit a much harder, darker, path towards freedom. I began wading through seriously turbulent waters during a time of such joy for our family, but I was committed to finding a new level of peace. After all, I had swam through darkness before, and in doing so learned so steadfastly just how strong I am. I knew in my core, the only way out was through.

During a trip to Colorado in late September with the most beautiful group of women and friends, I spoke candidly about my struggles, and how, in the middle of our cross-country move with 3 young kids, including a baby who was not sleeping, I had decided to cut ties with my anti-anxiety medication once and for all. That I was happy to be free of the medication, but was still really struggling. Colorado came at the worst, yet most perfect time. I almost didn’t get on the plane; I spent my entire drive to the airport picturing my death, and how this was the trip that would leave my children without a mother. I told you, it was dark. And yet, the evolution I experienced as a result of this trip, and the forever bonds of sisterhood that were forged in the wild of Boulder, were so divinely timed (thank you to no end for the gift of your in-person retreats, Ciara). I’ll be forever thankful for how I was held and supported. It was also here where I realized a much more natural option could be the piece of my wellness puzzle that I was missing. I didn’t know a lot about CBD, including how mainstream it had become. I was relatively clueless, and thought it was the same thing as medical marijuana (it’s not). I heard first hand accounts from women I love and trust how much it had helped them, and I became incredibly hopeful.

Over the course of the next few months I tried a few brands of CBD, and felt like maybe they helped a little? I wasn’t sure. I wasn’t looking for an overnight, fully transformative experience or a quick fix, just something to take the edge off; a natural way to gain a little extra calm and clarity. To restore some balance within my system. Then, I remembered GreenCompass being mentioned in Colorado, the company was mentioned to me specifically because of their mission to produce a clean product.

After requesting samples I was genuinely blown away by the difference I felt when comparing other products to this one. A few weeks in and I felt less anxious, less angry, and more stable, during my full, somewhat chaotic days with 3 young boys. I also didn’t even realize how poorly I had been sleeping until my first true nights rest with CBD. The best way I can describe it is that GreenCompass’ CBD is not mood altering, but peace giving. When utilized like a supplement (daily) vs a spot treatment, it can restore your body to a state of homeostasis. More please.

So what sets GreenCompass apart?

A large amount of hemp you can try and buy comes from overseas, whereas GreenCompass is grown in the US by 6th generation farmers; each bottle comes with a code you can scan and see exactly what is inside. Every product is also 3rd party tested. Transparency in the name of wellness and truly wanting to help people feel better? YES PLEASE. GC is also Certified USDA Organic (the hemp plant absorbs its environment - similar to how food absorbs pesticides, etc from the soil), making GC a cleaner, more potent product than others on the market. They only use the flower of the plant, where most also use the stem and leaves as filler. As a vertically integrated business, GreenCompass oversees every single part of the process - from the soil to the packaging - hence the seed to bottle tagline affiliated with its products.

But I fell in love with more than GC’s clean, quality products and how they have helped improve my wellness. When I researched the founder, Meredith, and her family, I was brought to tears. Meredith had struggled during postpartum as well; GreenCompass was born from her husband, brother, and family wanting to find a natural way to support her; their story is incredible.

I became so moved by the foundational story behind GreenCompass, in addition to how good I have been feeling and how well this company’s line of products are helping support my personal wellness, that I made the decision to officially partner with them. GreenCompass is American made, family owned & operated; values I so strongly believe in. I feel such a genuine pull and purpose to support women and mothers. I want to help people truly feel better, more peaceful. I believe in this company and am excited to be a small piece of the wellness and healing puzzle for others.

So what can CBD help you with?

  • Stress + Mood

  • Migraines

  • Anxiety

  • Sleep

  • Metabolism

  • Pain + Inflammation

  • Hormones

  • Overall Wellness

Did you know?

Your body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) linked to all your major body systems. Your ECS is filled with receptors and produces its own endocannabinoids to help your body stay balanced. These receptors also accept cannabinoids (CBD).

Think of it like a parking lot... When your receptors, or "spaces" become depleted, your body is out of balance. This can cause poor sleep, anxiousness, pain, and other health issues. Due to environmental factors, most of us have empty spaces.

Enter CBD.

CBD fills those empty spaces. This puts our bodies back into balance. As a result you may feel the absence of stress, anxiousness, fatigue, or pain. Your might notice your body bounces back quicker after intense workouts or a surgery. You will likely feel you have more energy, better sleep, and be in an overall better mood.

Will it make me high like marijuana?

Common misconception, and no. The difference between hemp and marijuana is federally defined by how much THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid) each plant contains, and Broad Spectrum CBD by GreenCompass does not contain THC. Both hemp and marijuana can produce CBD, the non-intoxicating cannabis compound; however, THC is found in much higher quantities in the marijuana plant and therefore that is what gives it the psychoactive effects. Here’s to health and peace, from the inside out,

Note: I do not believe you need to walk through such darkness to find benefit from CBD, nor do I think CBD was a 100% cure all for my anxiety and depression. I would never make that claim. It is one incredibly integral piece of my healing journey, and I’m so thankful I found GreenCompass. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice; but I truly believe in a holistic, natural approach to wellness. I’ve seen first hand how faith, consistent exercise, quality sleep, cleaning up your skin/body care and home products, eating whole, real foods and a change in mindset can radically shift your life towards health and more joy. It’s not always easy, and I’m far from perfect, but I’m so thankful for the guides who’ve led me to where I am today (women like Ciara, Susan, and Jeana - thank you one million times over).
